Meet Our Teachers
Angie Wuertzer
Center Director
Angie has been with the Braddock Street United Methodist Early Learning Center and Preschool since October 2018.  She came to the school with 24 years of child care education and experience under her belt.  Angie has worked in the field, holding various positions and working with children ranging from 2 months to 12 years old.  She comes from a corporate center background, but she has experience in small and big centers alike.  She holds an Associates degree in Early Childhood Education from Carroll Community College.  She also has several years of formal college education experience in different fields.  Angie looks forward to each new day with enthusiasm and as an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of the children she works with.
Beverly Ann
Preschool Teacher
My name is Beverly Ann Teachey Ellis.  I was born in Richmond, VA.  I received my B.S. Degree in Elementary Education from Richmond Professional Institute/VCU.  I taught Kindergarten and First Grade at Madison Elementary, an inner city school in Richmond which was eventually razed for the expressway around Richmond.  I left the Richmond school and taught Kindergarten at Falling Creek Elementary School in Chesterfield County until I married Rolf N. Ellis, R.Ph (Rex) who died in Sept. 1999.  After his death, I worked at Winchester Medical Center for 12 years as a Caring Companion and as a non-medical aide at Outlook Point in Martinsburg, WV.  I started working at Braddock Street United Methodist Church ELC in April 2011, as a Floating Assistant Teacher.  I work with all the teachers, children, parents, Director, and Assistant Director.  I enjoy being part of the team who help meet the needs of children, teachers, and parents.  What a win/win way to serve others.  Thanks to Braddock Street ELC for the opportunity to serve.

I do my best to be a positive role model and to meet the professional requirements of this position.  In an unstable world, our children and families need positive role models and teachers who care.

Alicia Campbell
Preschool Teacher
Hi, my name is Alicia Campbell and since 2016 I have been the teacher in the 3-year-old Dolphin Class here at Braddock Street Weekday Preschool. I have been working with children for over 20 years as a teacher, aide, church nursery staff member and mom of three.  I have completed a certification in Child Care and have taken courses in Early Childhood Education at Lord Fairfax Community College.  In addition to teaching preschool I am also the Program Coordinator for Jonah’s Clubhouse, an afterschool program at BSUMC providing care for students from John Kerr Elementary.  My favorite thing about teaching preschoolers is that every day brings something new!  There are always new challenges, new accomplishments, new experiences and new things to laugh about.
